Truly Retro

Optimism is the first cousin of love, and it's exactly like love in three ways: it's pushy, it has no real sense of humor, and it turns up where you least expect it. Listen for the fourth in the Blow's True Affection - a complete nod to 80s new wave low-fi kickers - totally infused with hope and buoyancy.

City Shakedown

Apparently there is a baby crying festival held in Japan each year where mothers allow sumo wrestlers to scare the living shit out of their offspring (most of whom are under the age of 1) until they hysterically cry and 'ward of evil spirits'. While mothers pray for good health, the competition is judged by a sumo referee and the baby who cries the longest wins. Now granted I don't live in Japan and I don't believe in evil spirits (except for those little ghost girls who haunt sunken freighters in the Atlantic), but this 400 year old tradition is one of the most bizarre bundles of boohockey I've ever stumbled across.

Unlike babies, everything that comes out these mens mouths is pure genius. They should sell their saliva.

In matters of food I am French, in matters of love I am Italian, and in matters of business I am Swiss (very Swiss). I guess I'm a Fool in the matter of music.
